about GKP

Knowledge. Grounded.

Purpose.

The Grounded Knowledge Project is a Henry Luce Foundation-funded initiative to explore public knowledge and community-based research in religious studies.

Vision.

We create digital gathering spaces to highlight best practices and strategies, develop resources, grow a network of practitioners, and creatively reimagining knowledge production.

Mission.

We advocate for a more capacious understanding of scholarship and the many contexts in which scholarship takes place, especially outside the academy.

Resources.

We’ve developed a series of digital resources including webinars, a short documentary on community-based research, scholar stories, a compilation of community-based projects, and an online certificate program.
